Hunting Ground Video Diary-Ayoub El Ashmawi

I believe awareness can be raised about rape by taking any and all reports seriously. While some may be untrue, studies have shown that a very low percentage of reports are false. I believe university should also not go to such extreme lengths to protect its athletes, as this leads to them getting away with rape and/or rape being covered up.

EROC is an organization for stopping rape on University campuses. It was founded by a group of rape survivors, students, and professors in the summer of 2013. They aim to end rape on college campuses via direct support of survivors and their respective communities. They want every person to have an educational experience free of violence. The organization primarily receives funding through donations, and is sponsored by NEO Philanthropy, a 501c non profit based in New York City, New York. The organization has been viewed as playing an important role in helping to raise awareness of rape on campus by most major news outlets. They have also participated in a lot of political activism, one example of which is slamming Donald Trump for using the word rape in the wrong context. As Huffington Post reports,"'Using the word "rape" to describe anything other than sexual violence trivializes the experience of the survivors', added Colleen Daly.".
