Libertarianism for beginners. What is a Libertarian and why should you care? Basically, a libertarian is the best of both worlds, it combines the sturdy and pragmatic approach to economics that conservatives believe in without giving up the responsibility to the public expressed by liberals. As Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson says “Most people are libertarians, they just don’t know it”. But the weather or not you like all the things that Gary Johnson believes in you, you should appreciate the principles of the party and what it means for the future of politics in America. If you are tired of the polarization of parties, the constant the division of the country into two factions (left v. right). Or maybe you're tired of the fact that the only options you have to vote for is a fake conservative and awful human in Donald Trump or Liar and a political elitist in Hillary Clinton then you should consider a third choice. I know what you're thinking, Sure that sounds nice but how can we trust you?

The article I selected is called “Gary Johnson’s Libertarian Alternative” in it author Steve Chapman breaks down all things libertarian and what Gary Johnson is promoting. The article breaks down Johnson’s approval of legal marijuana,same sex marriage and also exercising more caution in regards to the military. It also touches on Johnson’s past as a two term Governor of the State of New Mexico, during his time there he was able to turn around a crashing economy and lower the amount of criminals sent to jail on petty crimes.

Regardless of your political affiliation or who you're voting for, I urge you to learn more about the alternatives. Maybe just for the sake of becoming more political educated!
